Questions, answered

Clear guidance about PCOS.

Every case is different. These answers are general information; a consultation is the best way to understand your health.

Ask a specialist

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a common hormonal and metabolic condition that can affect periods, ovulation, skin, hair, weight and fertility.

The exact cause is not fully understood. Genetics, higher androgen levels, insulin resistance, inflammation and lifestyle factors may all play a role.

Diagnosis uses your medical history, symptoms and examination, supported where appropriate by hormone and metabolic blood tests and a pelvic ultrasound.

PCOS is considered a long-term condition without one definitive cure, but symptoms and associated health risks can often be managed very effectively.

Care may include lifestyle changes, nutrition, exercise, cycle-regulating or insulin-sensitising medication, skin and hair support, and fertility treatment when pregnancy is a goal.

Cost depends on the consultation, investigations, medicines, fertility goals and follow-up required. After evaluation, the team can explain a personalised plan and its expected cost.
